Wrote, and acted
as the narrator throughout three short independent films (see what's for
dinner/VIDEO
to find links to these films, directed by different people). These have been
shown from Berlin to Amsterdam, to the Saatchi and Saatchi Gallery in
London to small festivals celebrating poetry films.
Co-wrote/co-thought a theatre
piece called Powerplay, produced by Made in da Shade.
The piece included interactive media, film, music,
two actors and a poet (me)(2002).
Wrote a
short theatre piece 'A Mad Tea Party' inspired by Alice's Adventure's in
Wonderland, performed by actors of the Toneelgroep Amsterdam and played
at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam at the TamTam festival in (2003). A story told through music, actors, film
and illogic logic.
Different solo
performances at the Battersea Art Centre in London (Song of the Siren
night), at the Contact theatre in Manchester, at the International
Literature Festival in Berlin with my poetry and samples.
Wrote my interpretation
of Shakespeare's Othello from Desdemona's point of view using poetry,
storytelling and samples. The piece called "Desdemona Died" was
performed together with actor Hajo Bruins in the Stadsschouwburg in February 2003 (City Hall
Theatre of Amsterdam), in the Contact Theatre with actor Marcus Hercules
(2005), in the Paradiso and Bitterzoet with MC and artist Jimmy Rage (2006).
Have given
various poetry/creative
writing classes for Nowhere in collaboration with Palabras.
Was commissioned
by the PmPLab project to write a cross media performance piece. The piece
named "An attempt at understanding the universe" was written for
two modern dancers (Kelly Hirina and Dylan Newcomb) and me. Using existing
songs, imagery, poems and movement, creating a new language to tell a story.
We performed this piece in the Milky Way theatre and on the big stage in the
Paradiso for Ziel and Zaligheid.
Delivered a track
on the Mothership Connection 12", with the Off da Dome record Label
in Amsterdam, available through www.shade.nl.
Was artist in
residency for the Contact Theatre in Manchester in 2007. Oh what a
blessing!
Put the
Desdemona Died stage piece to vinyl and CD and looked for the boundary in
making a storytelling album. This album was created with producer mr.vilt
and features various poets speaking on the spine tingling subject of love.
